A little perspective please, yes? — Brad http://ift.tt/1eB3vHd
They both are. Everyone is capable of hate, including homosexuals. Phil Robertson’s message that only god can judge a person is about as progressive as it gets for people that follow a religion like that and he only preaches his message to those who ask. He’s not a politician. Acceptance is about disagreeing and moving on, not being outraged at every opinion. We are beyond that on both sides. They are both victims of hate regardless of your opinions.
Hate the sin, not the sinner. It’s something the Robertson’s preach. Although I’m not religious and don’t believe in sin, I can disagree with that family’s opinion on what is sin and move on. That is true acceptance. The activists that intimidated A&E are no better than the politicians who openly speak against gay marriage. Unfortunately they both have a first amendment right to do so. And unfortunately some religious idiots will take Phil’s comments about homosexuals being sinful to heart and completely ignore everything else he said about how drinking a lot and sleeping around is also sinful but despite all that we should love one another regardless of sin. But… The left wing activists have already done that.
Love your neighbor whether he be a homosexual, religious, drunkard, black, white, male, female… I’m not religious but I can buy into that philosophy. Why can’t those preaching “acceptance” do the same?
